Working within the Design Department, providing engineering support and project control on a range of products including specialist equipment for cleanrooms, laboratories, and hospitals.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years industry experience in product design and development

  • Familiar with 2D and 3D CAD software

  • Ability to create designs from concept through to final manufactured products

  • Knowledge and experience of product design and manufacturing

  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and evaluate customer products and designs

Engineering Experience

  • Project engineering including management, progressing, and follow-up

  • Sheet thermoplastics structure design (e.g. polypropylene, PVC)

  • Sheet metal design

  • Welded metal (box section) structure design, mainly in stainless steel

  • Basic pneumatic design experience

  • Component design (metals and thermoplastics) for lathe and milling machine production

  • Exposure to electrical elements such as fans, solenoid valves, and PLCs

  • Experience with cleanroom-related equipment including wet processing, clean air, sterile services, and endoscopy departments

Main Duties

  • Supporting the Design Team

  • Producing working designs, drawings, and parts lists for production

  • Creating purchase item parts lists for procurement

  • Liaising with customers, issuing drawings for approval, and maintaining communication via email and phone

  • Producing O&M manuals for customers

  • Preparing RAMS for installation teams

  • Producing design P&IDs for production

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously

General Requirements

  • Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD

  • Willing to attend customer sites for surveys, installation support, commissioning, and sales assistance

  • Computer literate and familiar with standard office software (Word, Excel, PDF)

  • Full UK driving licence required

Basic Function
Welding and fabrication in stainless steel material 1.0mm to 12mm thickness, including pipework and purge. TIG welding processes are utilised. You should have experience in reading engineering drawings, understanding tolerances and bend allowances, and operating fabrication and sheet metal machinery.

You must be able to work effectively within a team, either in the main production area or on client sites, with awareness of Health and Safety, production, inspection, and discipline requirements.

General Objectives and Responsibilities
